Dear Friends and Supporters of PURE Action,
We are pleased to share with you the 2016 Mission Impact and Organizational Overview. With your generous support, we are improving the health and well-being of individuals around the globe by sharing research and offering community programs and educational outreach opportunities to various underserved populations.
PURE Action has set new goals to continue expanding our mission by funding scientific research, building community programs, and extending opportunities to educate the world about how yoga is medicine.
This past year, our organization completed a new study about the cardiovascular benefits associated with hatha yoga and has new research identified to explore in the new year. Currently, there are 16 community programs active that serve a variety of populations ranging from teens and adults in the recovery communities, to youth in public libraries. Our team hosted the first ever Yoga Research Conference this past July in Austin, Texas where more than 12 scientists and researchers gathered to present their findings related to the science and yoga wellness. The conference weekend also served as the launching point for an innovative platform to share trending topics related to yoga. Inspired by TEDx, the foundation for YogaTalk allows the world to connect and discuss yoga; to inform and inspire. Our team is thrilled to see this event expand around the globe!
We are so grateful to our fundraisers, donors, volunteers, and students who inspire us every day to achieve our mission to heal the world with yoga.
